Vance Arnold
Vance Arnold was a Fayetteville high school graduate in the year 1971. After his time as a Bulldog, Arnold went on to attend the University of Arkansas, where he would receive his bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Arnold began his coaching career at Central Junior High School in Springdale, and after two years would accept a football and track coaching job at Fayetteville High School, bringing him back to his alma mater. In 1988, Arnold helped restart the Fayetteville High School baseball program and would go on to coach for the next 28 years. During those 28 years, Arnold won 15 conference titles and was named conference coach of the year 12 times.
His teams played in eight state championships, winning 6 total, with four in a row from the years 2006-2009. Arnold finished his coaching career with 589 victories. Arnold and his wife Jane reside in Fayetteville and enjoy spending time with their twin daughters, Whitney and Lindsey, and their grandchildren, Hayden and Adlee.
