Trey Trumbo
Trey Trumbo graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1975. He set several records as a Bulldog basketball platter including most points scored in a game (41), in a season (618), and in a career (958). He was selected All-State, All-Conference, AAA Most Valuable Player and Most Valuable Player of the Coffeyville Invitational Tournament. In 1975, he was captain of the Bulldogs and the Most Valuable Player in the state tournament while leading the Bulldogs to the championship. Their season reason was 30-5 and included the conference championship.
Upon graduation, Trumbo accepted a scholarship to play for the Arkansas Razorbacks and played his final two seasons at Western Kentucky University. Today, Trumbo is still a basketball presence in the community here in Northwest Arkansas. He has coached kids in the Special Olympics, the Fayetteville Boys and Girls Club and Arkansas Athlete’s Outreach. He and his wife, Karen, have three children and ten grandchildren.
