Justin Daniel
Justin Daniel starred one of the most memorable basketball teams in Fayetteville High School history, scoring 504 points, just under 18 points per game and a school record at that time, for the 1961-62 eventual state runners-up. He was also the leader rebounder on the team. His honors that season included All-State, All-Ozark Conference, All-District and he was selected to play in the Arkansas High School All-Star game.
He was a mainstay on the FHS baseball team that won the state championship in 1960. He pitched and was a switch hitter, known for his power.
He continued his basketball career playing for the University of Arkansas. He scored 116 points as a Shoat (freshman) in 1962-63 for Coach Glen Rose. He made the varsity as a sophomore. He also payed for the baseball Hogs for two years.
Following his two seasons at the U of A, Justin signed to play baseball for the Kansas City Athletics. He was in their system for four years making it to their AAA minor league team. He went on to play both semi-pro basketball and baseball, starring in both.
Following his career Justin founded Justin’s Clubhouse, a thriving business which sold sports cards and memorabilia.
Justin passed away in 2006 and is survived by his wife Lora and a daughter.
