George Sitkowski
George Sitkowski commenced his athletic journey at Fayetteville High School in 1983, where he quickly made an impact, earning a varsity letter in his first year. Over his four-year tenure at Fayetteville High, George proved himself as a standout athlete, contributing to his team's success with three conference championships and a state championship victory in 1987, finishing his senior season with an impressive 28-2 record.
After high school, George continued his athletic endeavors at the University of Central Arkansas, where he excelled in basketball, helping lead the Bears to consecutive district championships and a conference title. His dedication and leadership on and off the court were recognized when he received the Bobby Reece Memorial Award for character and leadership in 1991. Transitioning into coaching, George embarked on a fulfilling career that included a significant stint as an assistant coach at Fayetteville High, where he played an instrumental role in securing five conference championships and two state semi-final appearances.
Currently serving as the athletic director at Southside School District, George Sitkowski remains deeply committed to nurturing young athletes and fostering a culture of excellence in sports. Throughout his 32-year marriage to Dana Sitkowski, they have raised two children, Brooke Sitkowski Witt and Will Sitkowski, who have pursued their own paths to success in healthcare and aviation, respectively. George's enduring legacy continues to inspire both his family and the broader community with his unwavering passion for athletics and leadership.
